Twinning project in Georgia
Georgia’s Association Agreement with the EU requires, among other things, the implementation of the Industrial Emissions Directive and the Directive on the control of major-accident hazards involving dangerous substances in the Georgian legal order. The aim of the project was to prepare the relevant legislation and to set up functional processes for the permitting and subsequent inspection of the industrial and agricultural installations concerned, as well as a system for the prevention of major accidents that may be caused by the production, use or storage of hazardous substances.
The project ran from August 2017 to April 2019.
