Popular magazines, leaflets of shops in the area and product catalogues of companies. All this is printed by Severotisk s.r.o., a company operating a large offset printing plant in Ústí nad Labem. It is one of the first companies in the printing industry to be awarded the EU Ecolabel for printed products. We talked about the Ecolabel with Iva Prošková, Sustainability and Quality System Manager.
Briefly introduce your company and the certified products.
Severotisk is a large offset printer. We mainly deal with printing magazines, catalogues and leaflets. Certified products are on order of our customers, both in the field of magazines and leaflets.
How did you find out about the possibility of obtaining the eco-label?
Because of the industry we are in, it is very important for us to be aware of eco-labels. Awareness of the EU Ecolabel came from several quarters, both on our own initiative and from customers through their enquiries.
What motivated you to get the ecolabel for your products?
The motivation was mainly the demand from customers for the possibility of labelling their products with the Ecolabel. We were one of the first in the printing industry to obtain and use this eco-label.
How has this benefited your business?
Definitely a positive sign for our customers that we are able to meet the criteria set by the ecolabel and also the ability to use the logo on their products.
Do you use the eco-label as part of your corporate marketing? How?
We use it as a way of offering it to customers who want to know what options we have for eco-certifications and what logos they can present on their products. In general, it would also help our marketing if the eco-label was presented more directly by the founder.
