On 22 February 2023, a meeting of representatives of the Czech Eionet network took place at the Ministry of the Environment. The main points of the meeting were information from the meeting of the Management Board of the European Environment Agency (EEA), information on the implementation of the new Eionet structure, introduction of the members of the Czech Eionet network and appointment of coordinators of individual Eionet groups. The meeting was opened by Michal Pastvinský, Director of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of the Environment and Vice-Chair of the EEA Management Board. The opening presentation was given by Milan Chrenko, Head of the EEA Eionet Coordination and Partnership Group. The meeting was chaired by Martina Sálová and Lucie Bursová (CENIA, Geoinformatics Department).
Eionet Day 2023 took place in Copenhagen on 1 March 2023, the largest Eionet-wide meeting. The event was attended by National Focal Points (NFPs) from all Member States, experts from Eionet groups and thematic groups, leaders and experts from European Thematic Centres (ETCs) and staff from the European Environment Agency (EEA). Martina Sálová and Lucie Bursová (CENIA, Geoinformatics Department), who act as NFPs, attended from the Czech Republic. The event also included a National corner section, where the new structure of the Czech network was presented and the activities of these organisations were presented through selected publications of CENIA, MoE and AOPK.
The Czech Republic was also represented at Eionet Day by Jana Harzerová (MoE), representing the thematic group Air pollution: air quality and emissions, and Risto Juhana Saarikivi (CZMÚ), representing the European Topic Centre: Climate Change Mitigation. Both also participated in the Eionet delivers, where they presented the ARAMIS (Air Quality Research Assessment and Monitoring Integrated System) project.
Michal Pastvinský (MoE, EEA MB Vice-Chair) also attended the meeting on behalf of the Czech side and took part in a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities for the Agency and the Eionet network.
